Julie loves saturated color and frequently places vintage items in contemporary compositions to summon nostalgic memories of simple pleasures. She is particularly drawn to the reflections found in glass and metal because they present her with the opportunity to explore additional, and more abstract, views of her subject matter. The clarity of her style captures those moments in life when, for a fraction of a second, time stands still, and we clearly see the beauty of what is before us. She hopes that each of her fine art pieces speaks of hope, affirmation and promise, and creates a sense of well being as they hang in your home. Julie's artwork has been featured in both national and international exhibitions. She teaches watercolor in Colorado Springs at both the Bemis School of Fine Art and the Cottonwood Artists' School where her studio is located. Click on the links for current class information.
